It meets the requirements for environmentally acceptable lubricant (EAL) as used to describe those lubricants which have been demonstrated to meet standards for biodegradability, toxicity and bioaccumulation potential that minimize their likely adverse consequences in the aquatic environment when compared to conventional lubricants.
